Time is a precious commodity. It's been a while since I updated my blog. Life seems to have rushed away on me the last few months. Work, family, household and writing commitments all take a chunk out of time, that most precious but elusive commodity. This week a long-awaited writing retreat with two fellow romance writers was canned due to unexpected family circumstances. I could have wept. I'd looked forward to these few days away for months and had been ripping into my WIP every spare moment so I'd have a clear idea of my direction. By a great stroke of good fortune I'm going to be guest blogging on Lucy Monroe's Reader at Home blog April 26. I think there's a lot of truth in a comment I read recently about writing. It doesn't matter what you read now, it's what you've read in the past that most affects your writing today. Growing up, I steeped myself  in romance. I'm not exaggerating when I say I read hundreds of the old hardback Mills and Boon.
